This is a fun song that I made about reading the bible. Growing up I can remember the elders, especially my mom, always saying "baby make sure you go to church and read that bible." So I decided to write a song titled read that bible. I heard the beat and immediately the song came to me. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and my mom.
Take the time and sing along with this song. The old church was built in the 1920's where we sang this song as children in the 50's. The members of this church first were Fay McDonald in 1923, Anna Alexander in 1925 and Johnny Ragsdale in 1926 in downtown Roanoke, Texas. A new church building was built north of the Old Roanoke school house, north off Walnut street and 114 highways. The old church was moved to the top of the hill next to the new church. The reason is because the members believe to do so. The church was used for services and also a chapel. Later the church was moved again to the east by itself and used as a chapel and then as a church again. I mention these families names plus others when I play in Roanoke, Texas because of what they did. They did not give up having Roanoke as there town to live and prosper. If they would have stopped, Roanoke would not have survived. There Faith in God saved Roanoke along with others.
