California Is At War With The Rest Of The Nation

It is more than just Gavin Newsom ineffectively trolling Trump at every opportunity.  On every level possible, California is trying to override the express will of the nation – as expressed in the last election.  And it is not merely successionist, rather, they want to dictate how the rest of us should be.

The latest:

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed to disapprove California’s latest attempt to regulate heavy-duty vehicles, specifically its Inspection and Maintenance (I/M) requirements for out-of-state and out-of-country trucks….

In a strong statement, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin asserted that California’s actions violate both the U.S. Constitution’s Commerce Clause and Section 110 of the Clean Air Act.

“California was not, and has never been, duly elected by the American people to run our great country,” Zeldin said. He further claimed the state’s policies are part of an “extreme climate ideology” that drives up costs for American consumers who rely on truck drivers for goods.

The EPA’s disapproval also addresses concerns about California’s attempt to regulate foreign vehicles, stating that powers related to foreign affairs are exclusively vested in the federal government. The agency maintains that California’s approach is a “yet another attack on truck drivers and engine manufacturers” and threatens to eliminate affordable transportation options.

In essence, California is attempting to regulate for the entire nation because most long distance trucks move through California at some point, and a huge number of vehicles built off-shore come onshore through California ports.  They truly do not care that the rest of the nation voted for different policy, they want to force their policy on us.  Who’s the dictator in this equation?

And speaking of the pot calling the kettle black:

A spokesperson for California Gov. Gavin Newsom calls a new GOP-led effort to split the state into two parts a “stunt that will go nowhere.”

A statement to KTLA was released following the announcement of a joint resolution authored by Republican State Assembly leader James Gallagher, which calls for the state’s inland counties to form their own state separate from the major population centers on the coast.

The Republican-led effort is in response to Newsom’s proposal to redraw the state’s congressional maps to combat similar efforts in Texas that could potentially shift the political balance in Congress significantly in favor of the GOP. Gallagher is among the state’s most outspoken opponents to Newsom’s redistricting plans.

Like the Newsom lead redistricting effort isn’t “a stunt?”  I mean he is having to override his own state constitution to do it.  Sheesh.

I spent forty years – pretty much my entire adult life – in California.  I met my wife there, got married there, made a good living there.  Until relatively recently I never thought I would ever want to leave.  And now, having left, and despite so many friends and loved ones still there, a visit is difficult to contemplate.  You worry if they will let you leave again.  You worry if it will all fall apart while you are there.  You worry if they will demand some sort of exorbitant entrance or exit tax.  You worry about the friends and loved ones you left behind and if they have a future.

The thing that is sad is not that the policy is bad – the nation is self-segregating to compensate and different people have different tolerance levels, hence some normal people remain there.  What is sad is that they seem to have lost their minds.  Last night I ranted about the fantasy of transgenderism being somehow normal when people suffering with it shoot up schools.  But any more all of California seems to have moved into that small section of Disneyland known as “Fantasyland.”  Not content to live in their own crazy stew, they feel it necessary to try and justify their crazy by forcing it on the rest of the nation.  Their crazy has become their religion.
